Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers . (d) On September 18, 2026, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (“Bank” or “FHLBNY”) announced that two nominees for two Member Director seats representing New Jersey members on the Board of Directors (“Board”) of the Bank -- Mr. Anthony Labozzetta, President and Chief Executive Officer of Provident Bank, Iselin, New Jersey, and Mr. Ira Robbins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Valley National Bank, Morristown, New Jersey -- being the only two candidates to accept their nominations for the two seats, were deemed elected by the Bank, pursuant to Federal Housing Finance Agency regulations, to serve as New Jersey Member Directors for terms commencing on January 1, 2027. Mr. Robbins will serve a four-year term ending on December 31, 2030, and Mr. Labozzetta will serve a one-year term ending on December 31, 2027. Mr. Robbins currently serves as a Member Director on the Board; his current term expires on December 31, 2026. He presently serves as Chair of the Board’s Risk Committee, and he serves on the Board’s Compensation and Human Resources, Strategy and Business, and Executive Committees. The Board has not yet determined the 2027 Committee assignments for Mr. Robbins, Mr. Labozzetta, or any other Bank director. Compensation of Mr. Labozzetta, Mr. Robbins and other Bank directors in 2027 is expected to be in accordance with a 2027 Director Compensation Plan (“Compensation Plan”), which is expected to be finalized and approved at a later time. Details regarding the Compensation Plan will be disclosed after the Compensation Plan is adopted in an appropriate filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition to the foregoing announcement, the Bank also reminded its members that ballots in connection with the election for two open Districtwide Independent Director seats, which have terms commencing on January 1, 2027 and ending on December 31, 2030, will be distributed to eligible Bank members in October 2026. The Bank’s 2026 Director election is taking place in accordance with the rules governing the election of Federal Home Loan Bank directors contained in the Federal Home Loan Bank Act and in the related regulations of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the regulator of the Federal Home Loan Banks.

Item 8.01 Other Events. On September 18, 2026, the Bank issued a September 2026 Director Election Report to its members announcing the deemed election of Mr. Anthony Labozzetta and re-election of Mr. Ira Robbins as New Jersey Member Directors. A copy of that Report is attached as Exhibit 99.1.

We thank our members who participated in the nomination process, which ultimately resulted in two nominees accepting their nominations for these two open Member Director seats. Board director election regulations of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (“FHFA”) provide that if, for any voting state, the number of nominees for the Member Directorships for that state is equal to the number of such directorships to be filled in that year’s election, the Federal Home Loan Bank shall deliver a notice to the members in the affected voting state, in lieu of providing a ballot, indicating that such nominees shall be deemed elected without further action.
